DISTRICT 7..

Did not receive reports from, Fairfiled and Perry (Fayette, Hardin & Logan no EC)

Delaware members had great fun working up more practice on fldigi. At out meeting we did discover that some of the older laptops' internal microphones were not adequate. We'll be purchasing inexpensive plug in mics to make that work. We were watching carefully during the cold weather- although warming stations were established for two different waves of cold, there was no loss of wireline/cell phone service so we were not needed. We kept in touch with EMA, which sent out Wilmington Weather's updates to all. Three go-bags were completed with digital capabilities.

FRANKLIN With the request to submit a roster, our current roster was cleaned up and saw a drop of 53 currently non-active members.

LICKING Licking County had a fairly quiet--but COLD-- January. Fortunately, there were no call outs for warming shelters or other cold-weather related emergencies for ARES this month. We continue working with the Licking County Health Department as a member of their coalition and most recently with their Healthcare Disaster Planning Committee. This committee is addressing issues related to the Central Ohio Trauma System, as well as any other worst-case scenarios affecting Licking County. In addition, a group of ARES members has been developing their skills with the FLDIGI system and other digital systems which may be used to deliver critical information to our served agencies. There's always lots of fascinating tools for us to explore and adopt to better serve our community.

DISTRICT 8..

Counties reporting: Athens, Hocking, Lawrence, Scioto EC Comments: Athens: Athens County ARA is conducting Tech licenses classes on Mondays, 7 to 9 PM through the test session on March 10 at the Athens County Red Cross.
